It is very thrilling effect.  Magician displays 3 small wooden decorated boards, but one of them has upright pointed Nail fixed at the centre of it.  He introduces 3 plastic disposable cups and hands over them to the audience.  Now the magician turns his back towards the audience and asks any one spectator to cover the nail with any  plastic disposable cup and keep the remaining two cups upside down on the other 2 wooden boards.  After this is done, the magician faces the audience and tells them that, he is going to crush two plastic cups out of the three.  But he is unable to guess under which cups is the upright Nail and hence this trick is called Spike Risk.

As by mistake if the magician crushes the cups under which is the nail, then he is surely going to hurt his hand badly.  But after all  the magician is superior to all.  He starts concentrating and suddenly crashes two cups with his hands….. The climax is the cup which is remaining has the nail underneath.
